Choir

St James the Great supports a small choir that sings at regular services, as well as at weddings and funerals when requested.

There is also an “augmented” choir with members who sing occasionally at larger or special events, including Christmas Carol Services, Easter and festivals.

Music Events

The church is pleased to have been able to support local composer, Liz Dilnot Johnson, with the premier of her work, Requiem for Aleppo in 2017 and also to be part of a 2023 revised composition combing this work with the award-winning “A Child is a Witness” which was commissioned by Ex Cathedra and premiered in Coventry Cathedral.

Orchestra

The orchestra at St James the Great is made up of church members and local musicians, many of whom have backgrounds in professional music.

The orchestra plays occasionally and at occasions, as requested! 

Church Organ
