Pattern of services at Colwall and Coddington

The main Church of England services in Colwall are in the parish church of St James, but some smaller services are held in St Crispin's Chapel, next to the Village Hall. All the Coddington services are in the parish church of All Saints.

Reflecting the spirit of cooperation between churches, some services are organised jointly with the Colwall Community Church (CoCoChu) and held in the Community Church, the Village Hall, St James church or St Crispin's chapel.

The pattern of services on Sundays is as follows:

Sunday 8:30am BCP Communion 10:00am at St James 11:30am at All Saints Evening prayer
1st St James* Parish communion Matins
2nd All Saints Parish communion
No service
3rd St James* Parish communion Matins
4th St James* Wider Worship No service
5th All Saints Parish communion No service

The 8:30 early service is a communion service following the Book of Common Prayer.
* During the winter months (November, December, January, February and March) the Colwall Sunday morning 8.30 service is in St Crispin's.

The main 10:00 service at St James is a choral communion service following the Common Worship book. We provide a service booklet, so it is easy to follow.

Wider Worship is a service on the fourth Sunday designed for those who like a more informal style of worship.

Matins at Coddington is for devotees of the Book of Common Prayer. This is where you can appreciate the beauty of the old service book in a quiet rural setting.

Time of Quiet, which has been at 5:30 in Crispin's, has ceased after 23 June 2019. It is hoped that a team of leaders will be found to continue it in the autumn.

Inevitably there are variations from our regular pattern of services; you can find the actual services which are taking place in the current and next month on the Forthcoming services page.

During the week, you can go to services too.

On the first Monday of each month there is a joint Community Prayer Time at 4:00 pm held in the Community Church.

On Tuesday evenings at 5:30, there is a communion service, which currently alternates between St Crispin's and the Rectory.
