YOU ARE INVITED TO MESSY SEEKERS
WHEN- SECOND SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH AT - 10AM
WHERE– THE ALE HOUSE, St James Church
Seekers were renamed in 2012. We took ideas from Messy Church which started at a church in Portsmouth in 2004. Over the last few years, Sundays have become busier for many people and especially for families – sports clubs, matches, changed working patterns meaning fewer days when the whole family can be together and so on. This meant that our previous Seekers format had been harder to run. We now meet on the second Sunday of each month (except August) but the meeting is very special.
There are a variety of different craft activities
(usually including one with food!) connected with our theme for the month, a short act of worship (just a
couple of minutes) then we all go into the church at the very end of the service to join the rest of the
congregation for a few minutes (and to make sure that they don’t eat all the biscuits).
Seekers News for some pictures of what we have been doing.
Children under 5 need an adult to remain with them, please. Other parents are very welcome to stay and have fun with us, join the service in church or have an hour of time to themselves and collect their children just after 11 am from church (you can join us for coffee and biscuits in church at the end if you would like).
What about other Sundays? Children and families are always warmly welcomed in church – we like you! There are books, activity sheets and some toys in Seekers’ Corner at the back of the church if your child/children don’t find the service riveting!
Hope to see you soon……
