Welcome
We are the Church of England in Colwall and Coddington. We believe that God welcomes and loves all people, and that all people are created in the image of God.
Each of us is unique with gifts and talents that are blessings from God and all are welcome irrespective of ethnicity, gender, sexual identity and orientation, disability, and economic power.
We come together for worship and mutual support and are here for all members of the community.

Skull & Crossbones
I was surprised to see crossed bones and bat’s wings with the remains of a carving of a skull! Nothing to do with Pirates. This imagery goes back to the medieval period and was a common mortality symbol. The skull and crossbones were believed to be the parts of the body required for resurrection.
Resurrection and immortality, how appropriate as we go into the Easter period.
A Birds and Bats Eye View
The impact on any bats was the main concern and a Bat Survey and Mitigation Plan was commissioned. Over 3 evenings there were more than 100 observations of bats using the churchyard. In addition, low numbers of individual pipistrelle and soprano pipistrelle bats using the church gables for daytime roosts were detected.
The era of misinformation
Social media tech giants have stopped verifying the truth of information on their websites. The spread of misinformation is already affecting political outcomes, public health and creating division.
